Upon his death, the mansion and extensive art collection were bequeathed to a Board of Trustees, who have since selectively expanded the collection to create a truly stunning museum and one of the world's most respected centers for the study of art. Among its chief permanent exhibits, the Frick collection boasts Hans Holbein's famous portrait of Sir Thomas More and works by Titian, Bellini, Velasquez, Turner, Constable, Vermeer and Whistler to name but a few… Other features include Renaissance bronzes, Oriental rugs, Limoges enamels and French furniture. The gallery also hosts a wide range of lectures and concerts so it is advisable to telephone ahead for information on these events. Tickets are offered free of charge thirty minutes before the start of each event. If you plan to arrive earlier than this, you will be charged the usual admission fee. Please note that children under 10 are not admitted and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. is housed in a splendid 'beaux arts' mansion, built in 1914 for the
industrialist Henry Clay Frick.
